About Release:
Simulacra is one of the solo projects activated by Miguel Boriau, who is half of Belgian neofolk / martial duo Weihan, as well as owner of CDr label NOTHingness REcords. Similar to his other aliases (such as Mannus, Beyond Infinity and Insomnia), here the main interest is dark ambient. Presenting itself with an evocative artwork, "There Is A Fountain Filled With Blood" conjures primordial and supernatural images, where a feeling of solemnity and power prevail over the depressive and gloomy atmospheres that are used and abused in the genre The core of the CD is definitely the over 20-minute long title-track, uncoiling between deep space echoes and the disturbing murmuring of dead gods, in a journey that leads you through a dimension full of mystery and death. Equally fascinating is "I Have No Blood I Have No Heart", another fine example of sharp cosmic sounds darting out of the void Dark ambient is these days as overcrowded as ever, with most projects / acts sounding like copycats of each other. It's indeed a genre with little prospectives of innovation at the moment, yet it seems always possible to find new names managing to keep it alive. Simulacra is one of them. "There Is A Fountain Filled With Blood" is powerful and evocative to the right extent, and that's more than enough to give it the chance of a listen Degradation, degeneration, fear, sadness, loneliness, the end... these and many other negativities, "dressed in a dark ambient garment" can be felt in the new work of Simulacra The five foggy pieces of work that overwhelm the listener with a feeling of a total solitariness while waiting for something that is not avoidable and can't be stopped create the musical whole. The sounds used in the new album of Simulacra are, as usual, the minimalist form of dark ambient, that emanates with hypnotic attraction The main motif of the new album is a fountain filled with blood that symbolizes the source of death, the place we constantly head on in our gloomy existential pilgrimage. The atmosphere of the album grabs the listener's heart...to stop its beating with one grip Limited to 500 copies
